About Bike Fest 2020

Friday Harbor Bike Fest is the fourth annual bike ride sponsored by the San Juan Lions Club.

This June 6^th event offers three routes exploring the picturesque roads of San Juan Island. Before the ride, scream yahoo! Breakfast will be available for a separate fee at San Juan Island Brewing, our starting and ending point.

After the ride, enjoy four hours of rockin’ music provided by three local bands while savoring a no host variety of casual summer, all-American picnic foods provided by a local restaurant (vegan options available. A pint of beer from San Juan Island Brewing or a glass of San Juan wine will be available as well.

This year we have three simple pricing options available for singles, couples and families.

While we expect to have fantastic weather, this event will occur rain or shine. Come enjoy the spectacular views of the Salish Sea and our lush farmland and perhaps catch a glimpse of a fox or two. Also, enjoy a 2020 San Juan Island Artists’ Studio Tour map providing a self-guided tour of our talented artists’ studios.

Net proceeds go to support local needs in our community including college scholarships for local students, vision and hearing needs and more.

A hearty, no host, breakfast prepared by our local scurvy crew called the The Cutthroat Pirates . . . guaranteed to get you ready to peddle.

Shotgun Start

3 Courses that showcase the splendor of San Juan Island. If you are new to festival riding we have just the perfect 20 mile course to enjoy, or if you need a little more to get your appetite working, we have a 32 mile jaunt that is just right for a meandering pace on a spring day, while our Long course is a Metric Century, in honor of our Canadian neighbors, that is a bit tougher, but covers the entire island in 62 Miles. Finally, the self-guided Island Artists’ Studio Tour.

After the biking is over, enjoy our beer garden from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. We will have several beer and wine choices and if you don’t see what you like in our patio, you are just steps away from the front door of the Brewery where you will find an incredible selection.

Live Music

Also from 3:00 to 7:00 PM we will have several musical groups playing for your enjoyment. Local musicians will play good old rock and roll, blues and other popular tunes.

The Argyle Street Jazz Band plays traditional New Orleans style jazz and guarentees that your “toes will be tappin'”. Kate Schuman has sung from Friday Harbor to Nashville, and delivers an amazing collection of country and pop tunes. Her Patsy Cline program at our theater was a barn burner!
